The Quilt of Valor award has been bestowed upon Francis “Turk” Therkelson, a revered U.S. Navy World War II veteran. This stunning quilt was presented to Turk yesterday in recognition of his courage, sacrifice, and dedicated service to our nation as he prepares to celebrate his 101st birthday on July 17.
Turk’s life is a testament to patriotism, resilience, and unwavering commitment. His service during World War II helped preserve the freedoms we enjoy today, and his legacy continues to inspire generations. The Quilt of Valor serves as a heartfelt expression of gratitude and appreciation from a grateful community.
As Turk approaches this incredible milestone birthday, we extend our deepest thanks for his remarkable service and the sacrifices made by him and his fellow veterans. Congratulations to Francis “Turk” Therkelson on receiving this well-deserved honor, and best wishes as he celebrates his 101st birthday surrounded by family, friends, and a grateful nation.
